PS..
I have a video of us at the top :)
Apparently the high altitude does something to your memory because the three of us (Shawn, Richard and myself) have had trouble piecing together the full experience of summiting. It was the toughest, most mentally and physically gruelling thing I've ever done. I'll post pics of the summit and the video when we return. Sorry Bart, we were too cheap to pay a porter to run our blog posts down the mountain :P
Next..Zanzibar! We still need a place to stay for 4 nights.

Congrats Mira and Shawn!
Glad you guys made it up and down safe :) Have fun your last 4 days. Mira you owe me a phone call when you get back :)
We stayed at the Garden Lodge in Stone Town and Paradise in Nungwi. I would recommend both. Enjoy Zanzibar.

Wow, you guys rule! I can't wait to see the pictures, and hear what you can remember of the story :)
I may be biased... but I'm especially proud of you, Mira.
(warning, sap ahead)
For those that haven't heard the story, Mira really struggled on Rainier above 8000 feet or so. She stumbled into Camp Muir [~10,000ft] looking as if she'd been on a 5-day bender. I was very concerned about her attempting a climb at 19,400+ ft! But she was determined that, despite Kili being nearly double the elevation of Muir, she would still succeed.
This achievement is such a testament to your strength, determination, and optimism. Instead of getting down, using this as an excuse, and quitting, you powered on with a positive attitude and refocused your energy on the task at hand. You're an amazing human, Mira Patel. Just when I think I can't be more impressed, you go and do something like this :)
PS - I'm proud of you, too, Shawn... but after being repeatedly stuffed by you on breakaways, my feelings are a bit muted :P But seriously, congratulations and thank you so much for taking such great care of Mira throughout this adventure!
Enjoy your victory cocktails on the beach, and we'll see you soon!
woohoo! i hope you guys planted a canadian flag in the ground. great achievement.
Congratulations, Mira!
I can't wait to see the pictures and hear the tale of your climb to 19,340 feet!
Enjoy your time in Zanzibar. You SOOOOO deserve it.
Nice job guys! Can't wait to see the photos Shawn!

Please and Thanks!
Yeahhhhheahhhh! Wow! You guys are officially the coolest people I know! (actually...was it cold at the top?) You totally deserve a nice break on the beach...and bring me some kind of t-shirt back as well... :)
Talk with you soon,
Sarah
